Meet Coach Ja
Jadschi “Coach Ja” Green is a Silver Gloves State Champion, Junior Olympic State Champion, six-time Golden Gloves State Champion, U.S. Championship State Champion, and 2000 Eastern Olympic Quarterfinalist. Currently, he serves as the driving force behind CHAMPSDen Boxing Club, where he combines his passion for boxing with his commitment to mentoring youth and building stronger communities through discipline, perseverance, and purpose
Jadschi went on to capture the 1992 Junior Olympics championship, the 1994 Silver Gloves State title, and in 1995, he and his brothers made history as the first trio of siblings to all win Golden Gloves State Championships in the same tournament. By 2000, he turned professional at just 22, fighting in the New Jersey circuits.
In 2015, a life-altering stroke nearly ended his time in the ring, but Jadschi refused to be defined by that setback. After a long recovery, he returned to fight again in 2017, not for the win, but to prove that resilience and perseverance can overcome the toughest odds.
In 2019, Jadschi transformed his basement into the first home of ChampsDen Boxing Club, with just a single punching bag and a vision. Today, ChampsDen is more than a gym, it’s a mission to build champions inside and outside the ring, giving Kalamazoo youth a safe, free, and nurturing space to train, grow, and learn discipline.
Now, Coach Ja is ready for the next round: moving ChampsDen out of the basement and into a permanent facility to expand mentorship, education, and community-building programs, creating a true home where Kalamazoo youth can thrive.
Coach Ja’s journey proves that adversity can be a launching pad. Through ChampsDen, he turns personal passion into community impact, one round, one young life, one champion at a time.
